Buy Ambien Online Overnight Delivery There’s so much to say about the trip to Houston, but I’ll try to stick to pertinent information, and leave things like wearing a “Feeling Lucky” shirt at a restaurant on gay night out of the story. 🙂
Linux Journal flew me out to Texas for a meeting. I wasn’t entirely sure what the meeting would involve (I suspect part of it was just “played by ear” on their end too.) They actually flew a couple other people out as well, including Jill Franklin and Mitch Frazier. (Carlie Fairchild, Katherine Druckman, and Mark Irgang were already there.)
https://www.beecavebee.com/xg9y0yes The specific details of the meetings aren’t terribly interesting, but part of the outcome is this:

And I’m thankful the first 3 letters of the job title weren’t done in bold. Although that would have been HILARIOUS.
Which is, you know, pretty cool. I will continue to be the video Gadget Guy, and we might come up with other cool things for both the website and magazine. They’re all such a great group to work with, I expect awesomeness in the future.
I’m also still working full time at the school here in Michigan, and have no intentions of changing that. Who knows what the future will bring, but I really love my job at the school. I expect I’ll do some more traveling than I’m used to, but that’s actually pretty exciting. 🙂
https://www.ordovicianatlas.org/xmh0nyc So there you have it. Linux Journal is awesome, the people are awesome, and unless I do something really dumb, I should be working with them for the foreseeable future.
https://olashirt.com/bfetn1zevt Stay tuned later for a podcast. I’ll probably talk a bit about the trip there too.
https://oringsuspensiones.com/en/rm7c99jly Pre-prank research on Shawn is now much easier… Thanks Shawn!
Oh, and many congratulations. That is awesome news. 🙂
https://www.beecavebee.com/moup8qjpo7 Yay Ociate Editor! (Safer just to completely leave it out).
That is excellent news! It’s a well-deserved opportunity, and I hope you have a lot of fun with it.
https://electroseleccio.cat/b66lstr9 Oh how cool!! Can I brag about “knowing” you to my SysAdmin buddies? Or is that just too pathetically geeky?
https://calif-ilc.org/3fid54jc But what I really wanted to say is YAY!!! HURRAH!!! HUZZAH!!!

hehehehe, nice. 🙂 LOLEditors, coming to a startup near you…
Congrats, second jobs are always more fun. Hmm, Associate Editor, so no more fetching coffee, eh? 🙂
Shawn’s a conventioneer.
Did you wear plaid pants? Hehe.
No, but I wore my new https://www.polefinistere.com/9sxjdqbk Chucks. I’ll have pictures soon. 🙂
I love my Chucks. Really I do.
Very Cool! Associate Editor this may sound stupid, but I’m so proud of you!! I wish we were closer, I miss you! I would love to go to college and get a degree to be an editor! I love you!!!
I miss you too Tia. 🙂
Dirty little secret? I don’t have a degree. At all. I dropped out of college to start a computer business. (I took writing classes while in college, but never got a degree)
SSSHHHHH! Don’t tell, we’re still negotiating a contract. 😉
Congratulations! you’re smarter than me college blows!
I want a redo on that last comment I come off as a dork: Congratulations on becoming an editor. And on another completely unrelated note it’s always good to follow your passions.
Also I was in the library when I saw Linux Journal (May 2008) on the shelf. To be honest I didn’t notice it before. I always went for Time or newsweek. I searched through the list of people working on the magazine in hopes of finding my man powers. You were listed under Reader Advisory Panel. What gives?
Also I like how the articles start off with “Let’s try something simple” then plunge into intricate scripts and XML. lol!
The ironic part is that *I* don’t have a college degree at all. 🙂
I wasn’t offended at all, and I appreciate the congrats. I’m honestly not sure when I’ll be on the masthead page as associate editor. I’m absent in the June issue as well. My suspicion is that nobody thought about it, and they just copy/paste the page from issue to issue.
And if you think it’s odd to read some of those articles that get super crazy super fast — try editing them! I often stare at the screen and go, “uuuhhhhhhhhhh.” Then I Google a lot, and try to arrive at some semblance of feedback. 🙂
